Dream Catcher

I took a class called Who Am I. In this class we discussed doubt, memories, and dream. In doubt, we learned about what doubt really is and how it affects us. Then in memories, we learned how important memories are to an individual and how they can shape the way you are, for example, if someone you know passed away in a car crash because they didn't wear a seatbelt then you might always wear your seat belt for fear of the same thing happening to you. Then in the dream section, we learned about how dreams can symbolize thing that your feeling such as stress, happiness, or sadness. For this action project we had to make a dream catcher. I will go deeper in depth as to what my dream catcher meant and symbolized below. I hope you learn something new.

In the story of the great spider, the center of the dream catcher always symbolizes something that the creator has ties to. So that could be a flower, a cross, or even an animal. For my dream catcher, I decided to put wood beads as the center because they symbolize nature, trees, and forest. The reason I used nature, trees, and the forest is because they are some of my favorite things. I have always liked these things because they bring peace and comfort to me. So I decided they would be a great thing to put on a dream catcher.

The story of the great spider also says that dream catchers are meant to filter out bad dreams and let the good ones through. The type of dreams that I want to get through are dreams that calm me, dreams that are of good times from the past, and dreams that inspire me. The reason I say dreams that have inspired me is because I sometimes have a dream where I feel like I am the best in a certain sport and ill get a taste of what it feels like to be known for something and I will want it more than ever when I wake up. I also like dreams that are calming because when I have those I usually wake up well rested and happy to get the day going. I also like dreams from the past because they remind me of good times and sometimes it makes me want to repeat them. The way that I decided to symbolize these elements are through wood beads because usually happy memories occurred somewhere in the wood or in a forest so wood beads are good at symbolizing that. I also used wood beads for calming because the forest can also be a calming place where I feel at peace. I also used wood because for inspiration because the most common inspiration dream I have has to do with either mountain biking or dirt biking which I do in the woods. Another thing I used to symbolize these elements are brown, blue and green pipe washers in the rings a the top and bottom because they represent the colors of the forest.

The story of the great spider also explains how the dream catcher catches bad dreams. The type of dreams that I don't want getting through the net are varied, but one of the most prominent ones are those where your family gets hurt of even killed. These dreams are horrible because when I wake up I feel sad and am not as motivated to get my day going as I am when I have good dreams. But on the good note, it makes me more appreciative of having my family with me because I felt like what it's like to not have them, even if for a brief moment. I also don't like dreams where something is chasing me because they scare me for the time they last.

The way I decided to symbolize the negative elements was to put the gold wire at the bottom that is acting like it's choking the leather because sometimes something bad will choke you.

During the making of this action project we had to interview someone to find out what their dreams are like. I didn't learn much about my partner's dreams that I could incorporate into this action project because it was mostly sad and depressing dreams so I decided just to make my dream catcher extra bright and anti-bad dreams so that I wouldn't experience the same thing he did.

I think this has to do with the id because the id is the primal instinct which probably takes over when im asleep, therefore I experience things the way I do. I think the ego is just not present because there isn't really any true decision making going on while I sleep so the ego must not be functioning while I sleep.

I hope you learned something new in this project or at least found it interesting. Thanks

Pollution Is Not The Solution

I took a class called Fuel. In this class, we talked about different types of fuel, how it's used, who uses it, and most importantly how it impacts us. We learned about renewable and non-renewable resources. An example of a non-renewable resource is coal because it doesn't can't be gathered again to use. An example of a renewable resource is solar power because you can continue to gather solar power and it doesn't just disappear into thin air. We also went to different websites to find out how many tons of CO2 we use per year. I use about 18.1 tons of carbon per year. In this presentation, I will go over how much pollution I create, how I can slow or stop this, and ideas of what you can do to slow down your pollution. I also explain how we can bring down our CO2 ppm level from 400 to 350. I hope you find this interesting and learn something new.

Super Solar

I took a class called Fuel. This class was about fuel, what it's made of and how it works. We learned about renewable and non-renewable resources. My first AP was a non-renewable resource and this one is a renewable resource that I choose. I chose to talk about solar energy. In this AP I had to make a slide show and create a video that goes along with the slide show. I will talk about how they work, where they work best, what types of jobs are created, why you should switch, why a business should switch, and about how Walmart has switched and saved millions of dollars.
